Course: Word Processing Applications II (MS Word)

 

Course Description

This is a continuation of Word Processing Applications I and is designed to provide students with an advanced knowledge of word processing skills.

 

Certificate

Completion of this course certifies proficient Word Processing Applications (MS Word) skills based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.

 

This course fulfills requirements for the following Programs:

     •   Accounting Clerk (elective)

     •   Business Administrative Support II (elective)

     •   Computer Applications

     •   Medical Office Administration (elective)

 

Competencies (skills you will learn)

     •   Manage menus, toolbars, and documents

     •   Sort and select data

     •   Perform advanced document manipulation

     •   Utilize special software features

     •   Add and manipulate visual elements

     •   Format documents using macros and styles

     •   Create specialized tables and indexes

 

Course Structure

This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.

 

Course Length

The estimated length of this course is 90 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.

 

Admission Requirements

Students must have completed Word Processing I or have equivalent competencies to take this course. Also, courses in the Business Technology Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services.
