Admission Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Utah driver’s license
• Utah resident at least one year one year
• Pass the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) physical exam
• Pass the CRL 5-panel drug screen
Math and English levels:
Adult students will be assessed using the
Test of Adult Basic English (TABE) Locator
and Survey or through high school or
college transcripts.
Specific Program Requirements
All students must:
- Obtain personal Motor Vehicle Record indicating there are no unresolved motor vehicle violations in any of the 50 states
- Pass the Department of Motor Vehicles CDL permit test after the first week of class
Occupation and Licensure Requirements
Professional truck drivers must be licensed to work in this field in the state of Utah. In order to become licensed, students must:
- Provide evidence of completing the admission and program requirements listed above
- Pass the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A test.
- Interstate driving requires licensed drivers to be 21 years old. Drivers between the ages of 18-20 may ONLY drive Class A vehicles within the state of Utah
