Course: Assisting with the Reproductive Examination
Course Description
Within the Clinical Medical Assisting Program are 14 courses that each focus on medical assisting within a specific medical area or specialty. Assisting with the Reproductive Examination is one of these specialties. This course focuses on both the male and female reproduction systems. You will learn the basic anatomy and physiology of the renal male reproductive system. You will learn about the basic anatomy and physiology of the female reproductive system. You will study pregnancy, labor. You will learn about the signs and symptoms of disease in the reproductive systems and their treatment.
Certificate
Completion of this course certifies proficient Medical Assisting skills in the reproductive examination based on a score of 80% or higher on competency exams. A Certificate of Skill Competence is available upon request.

Course Structure
This is a competency-based course offered in open-entry/open-exit format.
Course Length
The estimated length of this courses is 15 hours. Actual course length will depend upon your schedule and your ability to master the subject material.
Admission Requirements
There are no specific requirements to take this course. However, courses in the Health Care Technologies Programs are to be taken in order. The course list can be found on the information sheet for each program or by contacting Student Services. Assisting with the Reproductive Examination is a required course that is recommended to be taken after the Assisting with the Urologic Examination course.
