Program: Medical Office Laboratory Technician

Medical Office Laboratory Technicians specialize in conducting medical tests on specimens and samples. Lab technicians work in clinics, doctor’s offices, and hospitals, performing various laboratory and clinical tasks. Clinical tasks may include taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining procedures, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting physicians during blood drawings and sample collections. Laboratory tasks may include preparing and analyzing specimens, performing basic tests, disposing of contaminated supplies, and sterilizing medical instruments. This program will prepare you to work as a medical office lab technician, but may also be taken as part of the Clinical Medical Assistant program.
